National Drug Take Back Day

Drug Take Back Day is a partnership between local groups and national agencies to provide a safe, anonymous way to clean out your medicine cabinet.

Prescription medications
Pills and tablets
Over-the-counter medicines
Expired or unused drugs

Remove all personal information, including your name and the prescription (Rx) number
Use a black permanent marker or scratch it off before dropping off or recycling bottles
β οΈ Drop boxes do not accept liquids, needles/sharps, or illegal substances.

π‘ Safe Disposal at Home
If you donβt have access to a drop box, you can still dispose of medications at home using this method:
Remove all personal identification from prescription bottles
Mix medications (liquids and pills) with a substance like:
Used coffee grounds
Kitty litter
Place the mixture in a sealed container or Ziploc-style bag
Dispose of it in the household trash
Recycle or throw away the empty medicine containers once personal info is removed
