Annette Holler
Coalition Coordinator
Annette Holler is the Coalition Coordinator for Drug Free Marion, bringing over 15 years of dedicated experience in the behavioral health field. Her work began in prevention advocacy and has included roles as a specialized docket coordinator and court liaison within the criminal justice system. Annette has served on several boards, including the Crawford-Marion ADAMH Board, West Central Community Corrections, and the Pleasant Local Schools Board of Education. She is passionate about educating parents on prevention and equipping parents with effective tools and strategies to support their children’s healthy development. Annette enjoys spending time with her husband Harry, their children, and two grandsons.
Barbie White
Secretary
Barbara White is a dedicated public health professional who has served Marion Public Health and its community for over 11 years. Her career has been distinguished by a steadfast commitment to program coordination, direct service delivery, and community engagement, particularly in the areas of maternal and child health, tobacco cessation, health education, and injury + violence prevention. White actively volunteered her time and expertise to community initiatives, which laid the foundation for her transition to MPH in 2013, and those roles included serving the Disaster Action Team for the Marion Co. Chapter of the American Red Cross and working on countywide resource mapping to enhance local careline and crisis intervention efforts. Her education includes facilitator training in enCOMPASS: a comprehensive training on navigating addiction, Responding to Addiction, and Protect Your Brain. White is also trained in mental health first aid, CPR, QPR, mass care, shelter operations, shelter simulations, and psychological first aid. She was a personal advocate for 12 years, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. White, as a service coordinator, passionately advocated for women and families within the Marion Co. WIC program for over 8 years
White received a BA in Psychology and minor in Public Health from OSU in 2010 and a Master's of Public Health and Community Health Education in 2024 from CSU. She serves as a project facilitator for the Integrated Harm Reduction program at MPH and oversees a ProjectDAWN program by connecting with community organizations and overcoming challenges and barriers to advance injury prevention in Marion County. She also coordinates public health emergency preparedness and planning.
Matt Carbary
Executive Committee
Matt is the Vice President of Program Development at Sims Brothers Recycling and former President of the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Michigan State University with a BA in Political Science and a Master of Public Policy, Matt has a long-standing history of leadership.
He was named Student Employee of the Year for the State of Michigan and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA, where he helped create neighborhood associations and Michigan’s second-largest triathlon. Matt is actively involved in numerous community organizations including the Drug Free Marion Coalition and United Way of North Central Ohio.
In his personal time, he enjoys life with his wife Chelsea and daughters Claire and Daisy.
Jody Demo-Hodgins, MS, LSW
Executive Committee
Jody served for 21 years as the Executive Director of the Crawford-Marion Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (CMADAMH), overseeing services in rural Ohio. A licensed social worker with a master’s in health planning, Jody has authored numerous state, federal, and foundation grants and held leadership positions in organizations such as the Ohio Association of Behavioral Health Authorities and the Marion AIDS Task Force.
She has served on multiple local boards, including United Way of Marion County, and chaired the Drug-Free Marion Coalition and Marion Community Foundation. Recognized with awards such as Social Worker of the Year, Jody retired in 2016 and continued to work in the behavioral health field until 2021.
She now enjoys being a grandmother, needlepoint, and preserving her homegrown produce.
Vernajean Eggleston
Executive Committee
Vernajean is a Clinical Supervisor at OhioGuidestone with over 35 years of experience in the behavioral health field. She provides vital support to individuals and families dealing with mental health and substance use disorders across the lifespan.
With specialized training in EMDR, crisis intervention, and family therapy, Vernajean is a passionate advocate for community wellness. About her role in Drug Free Marion, she shares:
“I truly enjoy being part of this program because it provides a combination of prevention education, supportive services, and community outreach.”
Outside of work, she enjoys time with family, laughter, singing, and home-cooked meals.
Kathy Butler
Executive Committee
Kathy is the Student Affairs Supervisor for Marion City Schools, where she has spent the last 11 years championing student success and well-being. With 27 years of social work experience—including 16 in child welfare—Kathy is a strong advocate for trauma-informed care and holistic student support.
She also serves as an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University, helping shape the next generation of social workers for meaningful careers.
